Weaving Gold

Mokosha, Anastasia Sophia, and Me, Natalia . . . while the books are written

Natalia Iwanyckyj

I am an evolving human, transformed mother, novice (indoor, so far) rock climber, ardent reader, and a writer exploring ancient, controvertible history, mysteries of the land that is now Ukraine and the Black Sea, and past life phenomena.

It’s been quite the journey to get here. I lived my first twenty-nine years in beautiful and secure ordinariness, enjoying a pleasant childhood (circle of friends, family camping trips, community), school and job success (BA Chemistry, MS Hazardous Waste Management, cancer research, environmental site cleanup, hazardous waste disposal), easy friendships, and a happy marriage (going strong). Motherhood landed me in a new land. Each of my children arrived with a clear mission and unique way of being. None developed in accordance with timelines or charts. Life as I knew and envisioned it, ended, awareness, expanded, and the journey of a lifetime began. (Read all about it: Swan Mothers: Discovering Our True Selves by Parenting Uniquely Magnificent Children.)

This website is dedicated to the journey of my current writing projects.

The Weaving Gold Chronicles

Inspired by paleoanthropological evidence, cutting-edge DNA science, past-life research, Black Sea mysteries, and Ukrainian mythology, Spinning Stardust (Book 1 of The Weaving Gold Chronicles) combines a speculative pre-historic woman’s journey with a modern-day woman’s awakening experiences.

Sisterhood of Stars

Sisterhood of Stars (Light-Hearted Women’s Fiction) is a feel-good story modeled after Gelett Burgess’s 1906 novel A Little Sister of Destiny. In Burgess’s story, a young heiress amuses herself by facilitating romances for women in New York City. My modern-day heroine earned her own fortune and knows that women’s desires extend beyond finding the perfect husband. In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, she creates The Happy Place, merging twin desires of helping women live their dreams and creating a workplace (a greenhouse that specializes in roses) for her autistic son and his friends.

Masquerading as a teacher’s assistant, yoga instructor, fortune teller, et al., Zirka wheedles her way into the lives of women ready for transformation. She capitalizes on her gift for seeing a person’s truest nature to steer women toward rewarding work and relationships, providing what’s needed for them to make the leap into a new life.

At first, the project seems perfect, but when her beneficiaries recast her giving as egotistical meddling and mishaps impervious to her charms escalate, Zirka’s grand vision of a meaningful life begins to crumble. She will have to do what she’s never dared if she wants to reassemble the resulting shambles into a life she wants to live.
